Women Teams Develop Domiciles and Dreams

With hammers at hand, women in the united states are coming together to create better futures and domiciles with people in need.

Habitat for Humanity International’s Women Build pro-gram, sponsored by Lowe’s, a home-improvement retailer, is trying to make homeownership a reality. The organization trains women volunteers and the long run owners of Habitat homes to create and maintain simple, good and affordable homes.

‘We have experienced therefore many positive changes through the Women Build system, not only in the lives of the brand new homeowners, but in the lives of the volunteers,’ said Fiona Eastwood, director of Women Build. ‘Women from all walks of life are picking-up tools, determined to create a better future for the nation’s children and leave a legacy of volunteerism.’

Women Build is not about eliminating men, however. It’s about including women who have a willingness to learn new things and meet new people.

In accordance with Eastwood, women are often intimidated on a ‘mixed’ construction site. At-a Women Build site, she says women have the ability to quickly and pleasantly learn construction skills.

In a recent study conducted by Lowe’s and Habitat for Humanity, women usually mentioned their desire to help kids and families in need like a reason for volunteering. Another reason they often times mentioned was the desire to enhance their areas and communities.

Habitat houses are offered at no profit to partner individuals and are financed with no-interest mortgages that are released for 15 to 30 years. Home payments enter the ‘Fund for Humanity’ to-be used-to create more Habitat for Humanity domiciles. With Lowe’s while the national expert for your Women Build plan, a lot more than 150 houses – a rise of fifty per cent over last year – is going to be created this year by women teams. ‘We are happy to associate with Habitat in encouraging women who help families transfer of substandard housing to their own house, where they could enjoy the pride that every household deserves,’ said Larry Stone, chairman of the Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation..
